Most visitors to Marrakech put Casablanca on the maybe list. The name sounds glamorous, the reality is a modern city, and the logistics of getting there and back in a day feel complicated. None of that is true.
The drive from Marrakech takes around three hours on the A7 motorway — comfortable, direct, and through countryside that shifts from the High Atlas foothills to the Atlantic coastal plain. You leave at 07:00 and arrive with the whole morning ahead of you. You’re back at your riad by early evening.
What you find in Casablanca is one of the most architecturally interesting cities in North Africa. The Hassan II Mosque sits on a promontory over the Atlantic — its 210-metre minaret is the tallest religious structure in the world, and the interior, which non-Muslims are permitted to enter on guided visits, is a masterwork of Moroccan craftsmanship at an almost incomprehensible scale. The Art Deco district that radiates out from Mohammed V Square was built by French architects in the 1920s and 1930s and rivals anything in Miami or Havana. The Habous Quarter is a colonial fantasy of what a medina should look like — quieter, more navigable, and full of good patisseries.
A private vehicle makes all the difference. You move between districts at your own pace, stop where you want to stop, and don’t share the day with forty strangers on a coach. Your driver knows the city and handles the logistics. You handle the exploring.

What to Expect
07:00 — Departure from Marrakech
Your vehicle collects your group from your hotel or riad at 07:00. The drive to Casablanca follows the A7 motorway — approximately 3 hours, comfortable and direct. Your driver handles navigation and toll stops.
~10:00 — Hassan II Mosque
You arrive at the Hassan II Mosque at the best time of day — before the midday heat and the peak tour groups. Built between 1980 and 1993 on a promontory over the Atlantic by King Hassan II, this is the third largest mosque in the world and the only one in Morocco where non-Muslim visitors are permitted inside. The 210-metre minaret is the tallest religious structure on earth. The interior — when visited with the on-site guided tour — reveals a scale of Moroccan craftsmanship that makes Marrakech’s medina feel intimate by comparison: hand-cut zellige across three hectares of floor, carved cedarwood ceilings 60 metres above you, retractable roof panels that open to the sky. Entry fees are paid on-site. Guided interior visits run at fixed times — your driver will confirm the schedule on arrival.
Mohammed V Square & Art Deco District
A short drive brings you to the heart of the French colonial city. Mohammed V Square is surrounded by public buildings from the 1920s and 1930s — the Wilaya, the Court of Appeal, the Bank Al-Maghrib — all in a Mauresque style that blends Art Deco geometry with Moroccan decorative detail. The streets radiating out from the square contain some of the finest and least-visited Art Deco residential architecture in the world. Your driver can navigate you through the key blocks, or drop you to walk at your own pace.
Atlantic Corniche — Lunch
The Corniche is Casablanca’s seafront boulevard, stretching several kilometres along the Atlantic. This is where you stop for lunch — the seafood restaurants along the Corniche are among the best-value Atlantic fish restaurants in Morocco. Not included in the tour price, but strongly part of the experience. Budget 20–40€ per person. Your driver can recommend the right spot for your group.
Habous Quarter
The Habous Quarter — also called the New Medina — was built by French urban planners in the 1930s as a planned neighbourhood designed to look like a traditional Moroccan medina. The result is quieter, cleaner, and more navigable than the real thing, with good patisseries, argan shops, and a covered market. Worth an hour before the drive back.

Your driver collects your group for the return journey to Marrakech.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the 250€ price?
The 250€ covers the private vehicle, professional driver, all fuel and motorway tolls, and door-to-door service from your Marrakech accommodation for the full day. It is a fixed group price — not per person. Entry fees, lunch, and personal purchases are paid separately on-site.
How many people can the vehicle carry?
The Comfort Van carries up to 7 persons. If your group is larger, contact us before booking to arrange the right vehicle combination.
Can we visit the inside of the Hassan II Mosque?
Yes — the Hassan II Mosque is the only mosque in Morocco where non-Muslim visitors are permitted to enter. Interior visits are on guided tours that run at fixed times and are paid on-site (approx. 13€/adult, 8€/child). Your driver will confirm the schedule on arrival. Most groups find the interior visit essential — the scale of the craftsmanship has to be seen to be understood.
Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. The natural stop is the Atlantic Corniche, where seafood restaurants offer some of the best-value Atlantic fish in Morocco. Budget 20–40€ per person. Your driver can recommend the right restaurant for your group size and preference.
Why book a private day trip instead of taking the train?
The train from Marrakech to Casablanca takes around 3 hours and costs around 15€ each way — it is the cheaper option. But you arrive at a city-centre station with no vehicle, no plan, and no way to reach the Hassan II Mosque (which is several kilometres from the train station) without taxis, navigation, and time. A private day trip means door-to-door collection at 07:00, a vehicle available all day between every stop, a driver who knows the city, and drop-off back at your riad in the evening. You see more, decide everything, and share the day with no one but your group.
What should we wear at the Hassan II Mosque?
Modest dress is required for the mosque visit — shoulders and knees covered for all members of the group, regardless of gender. Lightweight layers work well. Shoes are removed before entering the prayer hall — slip-on footwear is practical.
Can we customise the stops?
Yes. The itinerary above is the recommended route for a full day, but your driver can adapt based on your group’s interests. If you want more time at the Art Deco district, less time at Habous, or a specific restaurant on the Corniche, discuss it with your driver on the day.
What time do we need to be ready?
Your vehicle arrives at your hotel or riad at 07:00. An early departure is intentional — it gives you a full morning at the Hassan II Mosque before the peak crowds, and means you’re not rushed at any stop during the day.
Can we upgrade to a Luxury Van?
Yes — the Luxury Van upgrade is available for +30€ for the group. Select it at the time of booking.

Amaia –
The excursion is worth it. The visit to the Hassan II Mosque is impressive, which is the centerpiece of the tour. It’s true that it takes many hours on a bus to see one monument, so everyone can decide for themselves whether they have the time or not. But I would say it’s one of the most impressive buildings I’ve seen. The tour is very well organized.
Paula –
Beautiful scenery, a very nice experience, highly recommended. They picked us up from our hotel on time. Our guide, Nisham, speaks several languages and was very attentive. He also explained the entire trip and explained the history of Casablanca and its most important sites.
Domenico G –
Beautiful experience. Our guide Mohamed was very thorough, planned and detailed. The icing on the cake: although the guide was supposed to be in French and English we had the wonderful surprise of hearing him speak excellent Italian. Absolutely recommended trip!!

Mr. Rashid and Youssef was very kind to guide us to the different locations during the entire day trip on the way to Casablanca. My Husband and I enjoyed the trip and would definitely recommend this trip to anybody wanting to visit Casablanca for a day. A special thank you to Rashid and team :- Shukran! I have also attached a group picture of the excursion.
Julia –
The mosque is spectacular and worth it for that alone, but you can’t see anything else.
Federico –
A truly worthwhile excursion, especially thanks to the excellent driver Jossef and the very attentive and friendly guide Hicham, who made the visit very enjoyable.
José –
The tour was very comprehensive. We saw the most important parts of Casablanca, relaxed, unhurried, and unpressured. The guide explained everything to us, adapting to each language and making sure we understood everything. I recommend paying the entrance fee to the mosque; it’s worth it. You get a guided tour inside in your language.

We had a great day out, don’t be put off by the 3 hr drive from Marrakech, it flys by, comfortable mini bus, comfort breaks and Charaf is a great driver. Sharok, our guide for the day was polite and very informative, nothing was too much trouble. Casablanca is a beautiful city and worth a visit. The Mosque in particular is amazing and not expensive. Enough time for other stops and a great lunch stop too. Would defiantly recommend.
