Marrakech’s medina holds more than a thousand years of history. Most visitors walk past the Koutoubia without understanding what they’re looking at, push through Bahia Palace in a crowd, and miss Ben Youssef Madrasa entirely. This tour changes that.
Your official licensed guide — certified by Moroccan tourism authorities — takes your private group through three of the city’s greatest monuments at a pace that lets you actually absorb what you’re seeing. No queue-jumping crowds, no shared groups, no rushed commentary. Just you, your people, and someone who genuinely knows this city.
Three hours. Three monuments. One unforgettable introduction to Marrakech’s heritage.

What to Expect
9:00 AM (or 2:00 PM) — Welcome & Koutoubia Mosque
Your guide meets your group at the agreed point near the Koutoubia. Before heading inside the medina, you’ll spend time at Marrakech’s most recognisable monument — the 12th-century minaret that became the architectural template for the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat. Your guide explains the Almohad dynasty, the mosque’s 70-metre tower, and why the surrounding gardens were designed to frame the view exactly as you see it today. Entry to the mosque interior is reserved for Muslim worshippers; the exterior and gardens are your space.
Bahia Palace — The Minister’s Masterpiece
A short walk through the medina brings you to Bahia Palace — built between 1894 and 1900 for Ba Ahmed, the Grand Vizier and son of a freed slave. The name means “brilliance” in Arabic, and the palace earns it. Your guide leads you through interlocking courtyards, riad gardens, and reception halls finished in hand-cut zellige tilework, carved and painted cedarwood ceilings, and intricate stucco plasterwork. The scale surprises most visitors — this is not a modest home. At 8,000 square metres, Bahia Palace was designed to be the grandest private residence in Marrakech. Your guide brings the political intrigue of its construction to life.
Ben Youssef Madrasa — The Most Beautiful Room in Morocco
The final stop is the one most visitors leave Marrakech without seeing. Ben Youssef Madrasa, founded in the 14th century and rebuilt by the Saadian Sultan Abdullah al-Ghalib in 1564, served as an Islamic college for over 900 students who slept in the small cells visible from the central courtyard. That courtyard — a marble pool reflecting walls of perfectly carved arabesque stucco, zellige mosaic, and inscribed Quranic calligraphy — is consistently described as the finest example of Islamic decorative arts in Morocco. Your guide explains the geometry, the symbolism, and the stories of the students who lived and studied here. Allow time here. It rewards it.

Frequently asked questions
What does the 79€ price cover?
The 79€ is the total price for the entire group of up to 7 persons — not per person. It covers your official licensed guide and the full 3-hour private tour of Koutoubia, Bahia Palace, and Ben Youssef Madrasa. Entry fees are paid separately on-site (approx. 10€/adult and 5€/child for each of the two paid monuments).
Is this tour really private?
Yes — completely. You will not be grouped with other travellers. Your guide is dedicated exclusively to your group for the full 3 hours, from start to finish.
How much should I budget for entry fees?
Plan for approximately 20€ per adult and 10€ per child in total. Koutoubia is free (exterior and gardens). Bahia Palace and Ben Youssef Madrasa each charge approximately 10€ per adult and 5€ per child, payable at the entrance.
What should we wear?
Modest dress is required at all three monuments out of respect for local culture and site rules. Both shoulders and knees should be covered for all members of your group. Loose, light layers work well in Marrakech’s climate. Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended — the medina involves uneven stone surfaces.
Can we add a hotel transfer?
Yes. If you’d prefer door-to-door service, you can add a round-trip private transfer at booking: a Private Comfort Van for +30€, or a Private Luxury Van for +40€, both round-trip from your hotel or riad to the meeting point and back.
Can the guide speak French?
Yes. Tours are available in English and French. Please confirm your preferred language at the time of booking so we can allocate the right guide.
What is Ben Youssef Madrasa — and why is it worth visiting?
Ben Youssef Madrasa is a 14th-century Islamic college rebuilt in 1564 under the Saadian Sultan Abdullah al-Ghalib. It housed over 900 students in its small residential cells and features some of the most intricate decorative stonework in all of Morocco — carved arabesque stucco, hand-cut zellige, and inscribed Quranic calligraphy surrounding a central marble courtyard and reflective pool. It is among the most visited monuments in Marrakech, yet remains relatively unknown to travellers who don’t plan in advance. Your guide ensures you understand what you’re seeing.
